Being a parent has its ups and downs. But one thing is for certain: if you are going to provide the best for your child, you have to spend some money.
There are certainly a lot of things that you need to spend money on such as getting a crib, a baby stroller, a traveling bag, among many other things.
Today, I am going to talk about the essential things that every parent should get for their newborn.
A crib is essentially your baby’s own bed, but it has certain features that will make it safe for them to sleep on. As much as possible, I encourage you to buy a brand new one so that you are assured that it is of top-notch quality.
However, this is not to say that you do not get hand-me-downs from your siblings or relatives. You can actually get them, provided that you inspect it thoroughly and that it adheres to safety standards.
If you only need to replace a couple of things, then that is still safe to use. However, if you need a major overhaul, it would be much better if you buy the entire thing instead.
A bedding is a padding that is specifically made for cribs. That is because it is never encouraged to put pillows and blankets on the crib because it might cause suffocation to your baby. Just make sure that it is comfortable enough.
This is another essential thing that you need to buy for your baby. Baby bathtubs might look big and they might give you the impression that they’re expensive, but they’re actually not.
Consider buying one with a thick inner sponge that will act as a cushion for your baby. While you’re at it, you may also want to include a bath thermometer as well.
A rocking chair serves two purposes: it can either be used a chair where you can feed your baby and it also acts as a chair that will help them fall asleep. This is one of the best investments since you are able to use this for a really long time.
A baby car seat is another important baby gear you can get. Car seats are a must if you are traveling a lot and since you cannot leave your baby behind, this is definitely something you need to invest on.
I highly recommend that you get convertibles since you can use the rear-facing side and the front-facing side as long as you need.
As much as possible, you want to use the rear-facing side for at least 2 years and then use the front-facing side until your baby reaches 100 pounds.
This is a great baby gear to have, especially if you want to go out there and bond with your baby. They are made up of front carriers and they come with sturdy slings as well.
There have been some models that were recalled, so I suggest that you ask the store if the particular carrier is still within safety standards.
